NATIONAL LIBRARY AND DOCUMENTATION SERVICES BOARD
With the aim of widening the knowledge of the general community as well as to create an awareness of the National Library and also to attract readers to the library, a monthly lecture programme is conducted since June 1990.
The National Library and Documentation Centre (NLDC), the focal point of the library system in Sri Lanka, has launched a project to acquire PhD/ M. Phil/ MA (2 years research)/ Master of Library Science (MLS) Theses/ Dissertation, from scholars and researchers.
The National Library and Documentation Centre (NLDC) intends to expand its collection of rare books on Sri Lanka, rare works published in Sri Lanka, rare and old books written by Sri lankan authors, Periodicals and Newspapers with literary value, Manuscripts of National importance, Ola leaves and rare and valuable photographs on Sri Lanka.
Reservation of conference hall is administered by the Maintenance Division of the NLDSB.
